WE’RE HIRING
ASSISTANT ACCOUNTANT
SMEDCO invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill the position of Assistant Accountant based at Head Office. The successful candidate will provide technical support in financial operations, reporting, and budget management to ensure effective and efficient delivery of the Corporation’s mandate.
Duties and Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Budget formulation.
* Loans reconciliations.
* Initiating and posting journals.
* Bank reconciliations.
* Preparing monthly and year-end financial reports.
* Consolidating financial statements.
* Preparing annual budgets for the business.
* Preparing reports for management that analyse trends and company performance.
* Preparing financial forecasts based on assumptions about economic conditions.
Qualifications and Experience
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
* A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or other relevant qualification.
* At least 2 years relevant working experience in a similar role.
* Part-qualified or full ACCA qualification is an added advantage.
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and reporting skills.
* Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software/packages.
* Knowledge and experience in the SMEs sector or lending environment is an added advantage.
* A valid Class 4 Driver’s License.
