Job Description
JOB PURPOSE
The Assistant Accountant provides financial reporting, administrative, and operational support to the Brand Accountant.
Duties and Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Supports the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports including the Trial Balance.
• Assists with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Monitors store financial performance and identifying key trends.
• Performs general ledger reconciliations and maintaining accurate financial records.
• Reviews and submit payment requests to treasury for payments.
• Supports inventory and cost control analysis.
• Prepares revenue and expense reports for operational teams.
• Ensures compliance with financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Assists with internal and external audit processes.
• Provides financial insights and analysis to support operational decision-making.
Qualifications and Experience
QUALIFICATIONS SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Studying towards ACCA, CIMA, CA, or equivalent.
• 3 years accounting or bookkeeping experience.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Predictive).
• Strong analytical and numerical skills.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
