Job Description

The City of Gweru invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill the following vacant positions.

Assistant Carpenter
Department: Spatial Planning and Development
Reporting To: Artisan Class 1 Carpenter

Duties and Responsibilities

Job Purpose:
To assist in carrying out carpentry, joinery and general maintenance work on Council buildings, facilities and other infrastructure.

Qualifications and Experience

Qualifications and Experience:
At least five O-Level passes, including Mathematics and English.
A National Certificate in Carpentry or an equivalent recognised qualification is an added advantage.
At least three years' relevant practical experience.
Knowledge of carpentry tools, materials and safety procedures.
Ability to work outdoors and under varying weather conditions.
