Job Description
Applications are invited from suitably qualified, reliable and safety focused persons to fill the above-mentioned post. The incumbent will be reporting to the Bus Inspector. The position is responsible for operating in our Urban Transit Electrical Vehicle Bus Unit.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Safely operate a transit bus along the scheduled routes
2. Pick up and drop off passengers at designated
3. Assist passengers with information, boarding, and special needs
4. Maintain route schedules and communicate delays when necessary
5. Conduct pre trip and post trip inspections
6. Report mechanical issues or safety concerns
7. Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the bus
8. Handle emergencies calmly and professionally
Work Environment
• High volume commuter traffic during mornings and evenings
• Frequent stops in busy CBD areas
• Interaction with diverse passengers daily
• Work may include weekends, early mornings, and late afternoons
Qualifications and Experience
Minimum Job and Person Specifications
• O Level education or equivalent
• Valid Class 1 Zimbabwean driver’s licence
• Valid Defensive Driving Certificate (DDC)
• Valid Medical Certificate
• Valid Re-test
• Clean driving and criminal record
• Experience driving buses or large vehicles is an advantage
• Strong communication and customer service skills
