Job Description

The incumbent will be responsible for managing day-to-day cash operations and ensuring financial compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards.

Duties and Responsibilities

1 Cash Management & Banking Operations
• Monitor and manage daily cash balances and bank transactions
• Prepare and process cashbook payments in line with internal controls
• Reconcile all cash and bank accounts regularly and accurately
• Ensure prompt banking of all receipts and safe custody of cash equivalents

2 Financial Compliance & Controls
• Ensure adherence to financial policies and procedures across cash transactions
• Monitor compliance with statutory requirements for cash handling
• Conduct regular spot checks and internal control assessments
• Support the development and implementation of internal control improvements

3 Audit Support & Documentation
• Maintain accurate records of all cash transactions for audit purposes
• Prepare required documentation and support external and internal audits
• Respond to audit queries related to cash and compliance matters

4 Reporting & Analysis
• Prepare regular cash flow forecasts and variance reports
• Provide input on liquidity planning and risk mitigation
• Support the Finance team with reports related to compliance metrics

5 General Finance Support
• Collaborate with the Finance team on month-end closures and reconciliations
• Contribute to the development of standard operating procedures related to cash and compliance
• Assist with staff training on financial compliance and cash management best practices

Qualifications and Experience

1. A bachelor’s degree or advanced diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
2. At least 2–3 years’ experience in cash handling, compliance, or financial operations
3. Strong understanding of internal controls, risk management, and regulatory compliance
4. Proficiency in accounting software and Excel
5. High level of integrity, attention to detail, and accuracy in record-keeping
6. Excellent organizational and time-management skills
7. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
8. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
