Purpose of the Role
To act as a spiritual guide, officiant, and emotional support figure for the deceased's family and friends. Their role focuses on providing comfort, honoring the deceased, and guiding the funeral service.

Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibilities
Client care, Funeral Coordination & Revenue Growth.
• Prospect, solicit and secure new business to meet revenue targets.
• Receive bereaved clients with kindness and compassion.
• Introduce families to the consultant responsible for arranging the funeral.
• Work closely with morticians to ensure the deceased is washed, dressed, and clothed with dignity, using garments provided by family members.
• Inform families about changes that may occur to the deceased's body after embalming or other chemical treatments.
• Facilitate private body viewing sessions for close relatives before opening to the wider family.
• Ensure strict adherence to daily funeral programs, managing chapel schedules to avoid confusion or delays.
Spiritual & Emotional Support
• Preach at funerals when families do not have a designated preacher, keeping sermons concise (maximum 10 minutes).
• Create a conducive environment for family-appointed preachers to minister effectively.
• Provide emotional guidance and answer questions about the deceased's body on behalf of morticians and consultants.
• Conduct follow-up visits to bereaved families at their homes within a week to offer comfort and support.
Employee Welfare & Pastoral Care
• Counsel employees facing socio-economic challenges.
• Visit sick staff members at their homes to provide encouragement and support.
• Lead dally morning prayers to foster a positive and spiritually uplifting workplace culture.

Qualifications and Experience

Qualifications & Competencies
• Degree in Theology or any related field
• Valid Class 2/4 driver's licence.
Experience
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in ministry, pastoral care, or a related field
• Experience in conducting funeral services, memorial services, or similar rites is essential.
