Job Description
The Humana People to People Federation, which is based in Shamva, seeks to recruit a Chief Accountant to work in their offices in Shamva.
Chief Accountant
Duties and Responsibilities
Key Duties and Responsibilities
1. Capture key transactions in Pastel. Update transactions captured by subordinate accounts clerks.
2. Supervise Accounting clerks in preparation of Accounting documents
3. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts and financial statements.
4. Manage all statutory compliance, tax requirements such as PAYE, NEC and Withholding Tax, ZIMRA regulations.
5. Scrutinize all procurement processes for value for money and compliance with the organization’s policies and procedures.
6. Reconcile intercompany balances and transactions
7. Implement internal control procedures maintain the integrity of the organizational policies and internal control systems.
8. Serve as the primary liaison for internal and external auditors, preparing audit files and leading the audits to satisfactory conclusion.
9. Lead, supervise, mentor and train subordinate accounting clerks.
Qualifications and Experience
Qualifications, experience and skills
1. Accounting Degree. A professional qualification such as ACCA, CIMA is an added advantage.
2. Hands on experience Extensive knowledge of Accounting systems and packages like Pastel/Sage
3. 4+ years of progressively responsible accounting experience, with at least 2–3 years in a supervisory role
4. Good with Microsoft Excel and Office.
5. Strong analytical, and problem-solving abilities, track record of producing results under pressure.
6. High Integrity: Trusted handling of sensitive corporate financial data.
7. Meticulous attention to detail.
