Job Description
Chief Civil Eng. Technician (1 Position)
Grade: 7
LOCATION: OLD MUTUAL
DEPARTMENT: HARARE WATER
REPORTING TO: PRINCIPAL ENGINEER (Trunk Systems Mgt)
Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons for appointment in the above vacant position in the Production Division of the Harare Water Department.
Duties and Responsibilities
Job OBJECTIVES
Responsible for day to day running of the control center which composes of mainly analyzing and ; interpreting GIS and Operational data.
KEY DUTIES
• Developing and Implementing data analyses, data collection systems and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality
• Interpreting data, analyzing results using statistical techniques
• Identifying patterns and trends in data sets
• Reporting the results back to the relevant stakeholders
• Determine actions (new and corrective actions) to ensure data quality, integrity and security

Qualifications and Experience
Qualifications & Experience
• Higher National Diploma in Civil Engineering
• A Degree in Civil Engineering will be an added advantage
• ZIE Technician Member
• Three years working experience in a related environment
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
• ▪ Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (e.g. Excel. R. Python etc.)
• Familiar with GIS software
