Job Description

Two (2) positions of Counsellors that need to be filled up urgently have arisen in the Union Zimbabwe Trust.

Duties and Responsibilities

Duties
The successful candidates should offer counselling services during Community TB Screening Sessions. Detailed breakdown of duties are as follows: Helps team leader to identify sites to conduct TB/HIV screening by working hand in hand with other partners and community structures; Checks and ensures that there is adequate materials for use in the outreach activities; Visits Identified sites and meets various stakeholders to inform and gain support; Provides Counselling on TB and HIV to clients and their family members; Ensures TB/HIV patients receive pre-test and post-test TB/HIV counselling; Assist the referral and tracking of patients diagnosed of TB to the nearest health facility and confirm linkage to care; Completes a client information record and sent records for filing; Completes Various Registers; Documents case studies, good practices and shares the information with the Team Leader; Writes feedback Reports and submits to the Team Leader; Compiles Monthly, Quarterly and Annual Reports and Submits to the Team Leader

Qualifications and Experience

Qualifications
5 Ordinary Level passes including English and Mathematics; Bachelor Degree in a related field such as Counselling, Psychology, Social Work and a professional certification from a recognised certifying body; A minimum of 2 years’ experience in HIV/TB Screening, management and care; A nursing background is an added advantage
