We are seeking a diligent and assertive Credit Controller to join our finance team.
In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the timely collection of payments for our
security services, maintaining a healthy cash flow, and managing the credit risk of new and
existing accounts. You will act as a key point of contact for our clients, balancing firm debt
recovery with the high level of professionalism expected in the security sector.
Key Responsibilities
Debtors Ledger: Manage and maintain the company’s debtors ledger, ensuring
accuracy, completeness, and timely updates of all customer accounts.
Collections Management: Proactive follow with debtors ensuring early settlement of
outstanding invoices, meeting collection targets and maintenance of a clean debtors
book.
Client Relationship Management: This role is the main point of contact for the
finance department and clients. Candidate must have key customer management
experience and be able to engage clients up to senior management level. Experience
with managing a large customer base is key.
Credit Risk Assessment: Conduct thorough credit risk assessments for as part of
the onboarding procedures for new clients
Query Resolution: Investigation and resolution of customer queries by effective
engagement of the relevant cross-functional teams for invoice and any other queries.
Legal & Suspensions: Coordination of third-party debt collection including
preparation of required documentation and proactive engagement with counsel.
Team Management: Effective supervision of the debtors team ensuring a smooth
invoicing process, timely collections, real-time processing and proper record keeping.
Reporting: Timely submission of daily and weekly collections reports as well as
monthly submissions
Required Skills & Experience
A degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or equivalent from a
reputable institution.
At least 3 years’ experience in a similar position
Familiarity with the private security environment, strong skills in using Pastel and a
valid Class 4 Driver’s License are essential
