Position title: Data capture Clerk
Working location: Hermann Gmeiner Secondary School Bindura
Supervisor: School Head

Mission of the position:

Duties and Responsibilities

The incumbent will be responsible for preparation, compilation, sorting and capturing of data.

Key performance areas and main responsibilities:
• Transfer data from paper formats into computer files or database systems
• Type in data provided
• Create spreadsheets with large numbers of figures without mistakes
• Verify data by comparing it to source documents
• Update existing data
• Retrieve data from the database or electronic files as requested
• Perform regular backups to ensure data preservation
• Sort and organize paperwork after entering data to ensure it is not lost

Qualifications and Experience

Requirements and skills
• At least a Diploma/Degree in Social Science, Statistics, Project planning or Monitoring and Evaluation
• Minimum one year data entry experience
• Computer literate, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Proven experience as data entry clerk
• Basic understanding of databases
• Good command of English both oral and written and customer service skills
