Job Description
National Cranes & Equipment is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Diesel Plant Fitter (DPF) to join our Harare-based operations. The successful candidate must hold a Class 1 trade certificate, a valid Class 2 driver’s licence, and have a minimum of 5 years’ experience servicing and maintaining heavy-duty equipment, with particular expertise in cranes, earthmoving equipment, forklifts, telehandlers, and trucks.
Duties and Responsibilities
Conduct routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance on heavy-duty machinery.
Diagnose and repair faults on hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
Test and inspect vehicles and machinery post-repair using Class 2 licence.
Maintain accurate service records and adhere to maintenance schedules.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
Provide technical feedback to management on equipment condition and performance.
Qualifications and Experience
Class 1 Diesel Plant Fitter trade qualification.
Valid Class 2 driver’s licence (required for vehicle testing).
Minimum 5 years of post-apprenticeship experience working on cranes, forklifts, telehandlers, trucks, and earthmoving equipment.
Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and under pressure
