Job Description

ROBERT MUGABE SCHOOL OF EDUCATION AND CULTURE

Duties and Responsibilities

Analysing, familiarising and customising critical educational technologies as well as coming up with solutions to improve the teaching and learning process and to increase efficiency in administrative functions;
Administering assessments to establish digital competence levels of staff and students and planning remedies for any deficiencies;
Facilitating trainings;
Participating in teaching and learning policy development;
identifying and assessing emerging digital technologies and their capability to address teaching and learning needs;
Collaborating with GZU schools and partners to develop novel assessment forms and providing students with support on the usage of technologies required to complete such initiatives;
Developing and disseminating multi-media and interactive and educational materials to enhance the teaching and learning process; and
Leading in the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) with a bias towards eLearning issues.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants must have at least a Master’s degree in Education or related field, a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Education with Technology or related area.
Possession of a doctoral degree in Education would be an added advantage.
Applicants who can show some progress towards acquiring a relevant Doctoral Degree may be considered. In addition, applicants must have two (2) years’ experience in university education with exposure to training, technology integration and pedagogy. Knowledge of Learning Management Systems (LMS e.g Google Classroom and Moodle and applications such as Loom, Articulate Storyline and Adobe Captivate as well as evidence of research and publications in eLearning issues would be an added advantage.
