Job Description

Job Title: Electrical and Instrumentation Manager

Job Type: Full-time

Job Purpose

To contribute towards implementation of the Mine Maintenance strategy that ensures alignment with the Delta Gold Zimbabwe (Pvt) Ltd’s long-term business strategy. The position will be responsible for the managerial and leadership roles in the Electrical and Instrumentation sections of the Maintenance Department.

Duties and Responsibilities

Job Specifications

* Ensure statutory compliance of the Electrical Department.
* Design and develop maintenance systems and enforce productive maintenance practices that ensure maximum operational success.
* Coordinate and oversee Electrical and Instrumentation maintenance operations, ensuring all safety protocols, safeguards and controls are followed during maintenance work in the Plant and Mining areas.
* Ensure availability of critical electrical spares in Stores and consistent supply of quality spares to the Electrical Maintenance team.
* Control costs for Electrical Maintenance spares and maintenance work.
* Ensure achievement of daily, weekly and monthly plant and equipment availability targets.
* Oversee maintenance of Fixed Plant Automation, Instrumentation and Control, PLC and SCADA systems.
* Ensure efficient and effective electrical maintenance and operation of the following equipment:
* High and low voltage reticulation systems
* Conveying equipment and associated systems
* Pumps and ball mills
* Primary and secondary jaw crushers
* Vibratory feeders/screens
* CIL process plant and equipment
* PLC/SCADA systems
* Develop and implement Safety and Accident Prevention programmes and standard job procedures for electrical equipment.
* Generate value-added reports on plant maintenance, availability, breakdown analysis, manpower performance analysis and training.

Qualifications and Experience

Person Specifications

Suitable candidates should have the following qualifications, experience and attributes:

* BSc Honours Degree in Electrical Engineering from a reputable university.
* Minimum of six (6) years’ post Graduate Traineeship maintenance work experience in Mining and Processing Operations.
* Strong technical knowledge in Electrical, Instrumentation and Automation disciplines. Candidates should have demonstrable understanding and interpretation of applicable legislation and Mining Regulations.
* Practical and resolute decision-making ability. Candidates should be detail-oriented, possess strong conceptual skills and be capable of developing lateral, calculated and practical business solutions.
* Digital and Learning Agility. Candidates should be computer literate in Microsoft programmes (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and familiar with Maintenance ERP systems. Candidates should also be ready to adopt new digital or electronic programmes and practices.
* Membership of and registration with a Professional Engineering Institution is mandatory.
