Job Description
To report to the Electrical Engineer through supporting all the daily, routine and planned Electrical maintenance and project activities by performing the planning, organising, coordinating and leading a team of Electrical Technicians and Artisans.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Leading/managing a three-shift system within the Factory.
• Ensuring 24hour plant availability for production team to assist meet set targets.
• Producing electrical weekly and monthly downtime reports.
• Ensuring electricity supplies are available for production.
• Ensuring that all electricity generating equipment and other related equipment are maintained according to design specifications.
• Ensuring that personnel and equipment installations comply with safety and regulatory standards.
• Prioritizing and allocating tasks to a team of Artisans and Technicians as per maintenance schedules or breakdown reports.
• Liaising with Electricity supply authority and energy regulatory authority.
• Recommending machine upgrades or modifications where necessary.
• Assisting in the preparation of the maintenance budget and control of expenditure.
• Liaising with procurement to ensure the correct and good quality components are bought and to hire the correct service providers.
• Ensuring that scheduled maintenance of plant equipment is carried out in time and on budget.
• Ensuring that planned and annual maintenance schedules are planned for and done in time.
Qualifications and Experience
• A time served Electrician with at least a HND in Electrical Power Engineering.
• At least 10 years relevant work experience in an industrial/manufacturing/process setup.
• Certification on 33kV Switching and Cable Splicing.
• Have good communication skills- both written and oral.
• Computer literate in Microsoft Office.
• Good people and project management skills.
• Attentive to detail.
