University of Zimbabwe – Clinical Trials Research Centre (UZ-CTRC) is seeking a suitably trained, competent, self- motivated, mature, talented, and qualified Finance Officer responsible for managing all assets across the 7 Clinical Research Sites (CRSs) in Harare and Chitungwiza.
Background
UZ-CTRC is a centre of excellence in the prevention and control of HIV and AIDS and have contributed to global understanding of HIV epidemiology and pathogenesis, global and Zimbabwean health policy, and have elevated standards of care.

Duties and Responsibilities

Position summary
Daily asset management of all assets in the asset register, including the identification, recording in the SAGE ERP 1000 accounting system, valuation, timely reconciliation and reporting of assets; Consolidate the fixed asset register to enable a complete and accurate records; Maintain a monthly fixed asset additions and disposals schedule and build up the year-end schedule for use during internal/external audits; Allocate asset numbers/tags to all new fixed assets for tracking and prevention of theft of the physical assets; Reconcile all fixed assets in Asset 1000 module and carry out physical verification of assets; Assess assets’ condition (impairment and obsolescence) and recommend assets disposal/donation to management; Monitor asset disposals and movements via authorised source documents; Prepare monthly and quarterly trackers and reports as assigned by the Supervisor; Assist in the review of relevant Standard Operating Procedures and ensure adherence of same.

Qualifications and Experience

Qualifications
Minimum 3 A’ Level passes a must; Degree in Accounting from a recognized university; A minimum of 5 years’ work experience in accounting and fixed assets management; Experience in SAGE ERP 1000 accounting system is an added advantage; Membership to a professional body is also an added advantage; Clean Class 4 driver’s licence; Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; excellent organizational skills, planning and analytical skills; Ability to influence culture in a team and ability to work in a team and multitask.
