oversees operations and staffing for the produce department within a grocery store. Ensures quality and freshness of all produce, suggests changes to inventory and pricing, and purchases supplies when needed. Responsible for department staff training, assignments, and scheduling.
Analyse customer feedback and trading patterns to ensure we are pre-empting their needs, driving sales and creating a great atmosphere.
Standing over the legal aspects of the department by maintaining food safety and hygiene standards throughout the fresh replenishment area.
Responsible for ordering and properly rotating product to ensure inventory levels
Maintain personal grooming and uniform standards
Recognize and resolve customer issues or complaints by determining optimal solutions in a timely manner.
Ensuring all produce is fresh and safe to eat.
Removing produce that shows signs of spoilage.
Setting up, maintaining and deconstructing product displays.
Maintaining a clean and organized shopping environment.
Following health regulations and safety standards.
Performing any additional duties assigned by the store manager.
Any Business Studies degree /BS. in Food, Chemical Engineering required
Familiarity with using continuous improvement tools and fundamentals.
Sound communication skills (written and verbal).
Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external customers.
Strong computer skills.
