Job Description

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill the following post that has arisen in the University.

Fuel Attendant (1 Post)

Duties and Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities

Filling fuel tanks of vehicles, generators, and other equipment with petrol or diesel fuel to requested levels;
Maintaining up to date fuel records such as the Fuel Draw Down register, Issue and Receipt books and Fuel Requisition Forms together with requisite attachments;
Processing Fuel Requisitions for all University vehicles, and equipment;
Compiling weekly and monthly vehicle-fuel-mileage analysis schedules;
Monitoring re-order levels and advising on replenishing of the fuel stocks;
Assisting the Stores Clerk in receiving fuel delivered in accordance with set rules and procedures;
Cleaning the fuel station, prevention of fires, and maintaining it in a user friendly and safe environment and
Performing any other duties as assigned by the Head of Department.

Qualifications and Experience

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants must have at least five (5) “O” level passes including English Language and Mathematics or Accounts;
Possession of a numerically related Certificate/Diploma would be an added advantage;
Applicants should have a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a retailing environment of which one (1) year should be working within a fuel related environment;
Experience and knowledge of Stores Management systems and basic skills in fuel handling and fire fighting techniques would be added advantages.
