Job Description

Background
A local public interest law organization working to promote environmental justice, sustainable natural resource governance, and community empowerment in Zimbabwe and beyond seeks to engage a graduate intern to support its Land and Natural Resource Programme. The organization has over the past 25 years, built a strong reputation both locally and internationally for using the law to advance equitable and sustainable governance of natural resources. The Land and Natural Resources Programme seeks to enhance protection of land and natural resources with a focus on thematic areas such as biodiversity conservation, water governance, sustainable forest management and sustainable land management.
Purpose of the Internship
The internship aims to provide a recent graduate with practical experience in land and natural resources governance.

Duties and Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities
• Support the planning, and implementation of projects under the land and natural resource programme unit.
• Assist in preparing project reports, proposals, and presentations.
• Support logistical arrangements for meetings, trainings, and workshops.
• Support communication activities, including drafting articles, briefs, and social media content related to land and natural resources.
• Assist with other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience

• Recent graduate with a degree in Wildlife conservation, Forestry, Wildlife Ecology and Conservation; Freshwater & Fishery Science; Biodiversity Conservation; Forest Resources and Wildlife Management or related field.
• Demonstrated interest in land and natural resources programming.
• Strong research, analytical, and writing skills.
• Good organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
