Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the position of Handyman that has arisen in our Institute.
Reporting to the Finance and Administration Manager, the successful candidate among other duties will be responsible for the following:-
Duties and Responsibilities
Attends to all reported maintenance faults
Maintains adequate stocks of maintenance consumables
Reports ZESA and ZINWA faults as soon as possible
Reports acts of vandalism to management and security
Maintains sewer ponds
Ensures that gullies and drains are free from debris
Repairs and maintains all electrical, plumbing, mechanical and carpentry installations of the Institute and staff
residences
Troubleshoots general maintenance problems
Prepares annual preventive maintenance plan for all facilities
General maintenance of the Institute
Supervises subordinates
Qualifications and Experience
5 “O” Levels including Maths and English
Class 4 Driver’s license
National Certificate /National Diploma in Electrical Engineering
A Skilled Worker Class One Trade Certificate
At least 3 years’ experience in a similar position
All -rounder able to carry out general maintenance work
Must be able to work independently and keep clear and accurate records
