To set objectives and manage staff and activities of the Heritage and Cultural Centre in line with the overall vision of an established Group of Companies. The Heritage & Cultural Centre is a place where education and culture meets. Its main focus is to provide a platform where the youth and tourists will explore the depth of the Zimbabwean culture.
The incumbent shall be expected to;
o To agree with the Group Managing Director on the strategic direction of the Heritage Centre
o To set annual goals and objectives of the Centre and cascade and agree with staff on the same
o Research on the National cultural issues that will be showcased at the Centre
o Perform all recruitment, selection, placement and induction duties.
o Develop training and induction programmes in line with college budget.
o To liaise with the Ministry of Education and Culture to establish the ministry’s thrust in order to make the Centre align with the Government’s direction
o Develop programmes with staff on visits to the Centre
o Market the cultural facilities to schools and tourist organisations to attract the targeted number of visitors annually
o Prepare annual financial budget for the Centre
o Recruit qualified employees to work at the Centre
o Manage all employment issues including training, staff discipline and regular performance appraisals
o Prepare monthly reports and annual reports for that Group Managing Director tracking performance of the Centre.
o Ensure efficient running of the administration procurement of all items needed to run the Centre including stationery
o A university degree in Education/Social Sciences/Tourism or equivalent
o Minimum of 10 years’ experience in an Education or Tourism Sector
o Teaching experience will be an added advantage
Semi-retired applicants are also welcome
o At least 5 years supervisory/managerial experience required
o Good written and oral communication skills
o Good interpersonal skills
o Ability to work in a performance driven culture
