DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH SERVICES
VACANCY: HEALTH PROMOTIONS OFFICER: GRADE 11
Applications are invited from suitably qualified, experienced, self-motivated and task oriented individuals to fill the above position that has arisen within the Department of Health Services.
The incumbent will be reporting to the Director of Health Services and will be responsible for:-
> Plan; identify the health education/ promotion needs of the community and interventions.
> Strategise, coordinate, implement and evaluate health promotion activities in the city
> Advise the Director of Health Services on matters pertaining to health education & promotion.
> Coordinates functions of community health clubs, organises city EEC committee and promote community participation.
> Coordinates council wellness program in liaison with relevant departments
> Epidemiological research and develop project proposals for funding of the city's disease prevention programmes.
> Plan, conduct, implement and evaluate health education activities for ongoing programmes.
> Develop, produce and distribute audio-visual health promotion materials for the City.
> Any other duties as assigned from time to time.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Must be a holder of a Health education and promotion degree or equivalent.
Possession of an MPH degree is an added advantage.
A minimum of 3 years working experience is a must.

Ability to work effectively, both independently and within a team
Ability to handle pressure and work with minimum supervision
