An established company in the Motor Industry seek to fill the post of Human Resources Officer.
Purpose of the job
To ensure the effective delivery of human resource services across the organization by coordinating recruitment and selection, performance management, staff development, while enforcing HR policies, and maintaining positive employee relations in alignment with organizational goals and legal compliance.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Coordinating the recruitment and selection process from posting job adverts, screening resumes, scheduling and conducting interviews, conducting reference checks, and drafting all appointment documentation.
• On-boarding of new staff.
• Managing staff contracts as guided by HR Policy and the country’s labour legislation, ensuring all staff have up to date contracts on file.
• Coordinating performance management, guiding line management in the implementation of the company’s performance management system.
• Coordinating staff movements to meet the company’s requirements from time to time.
• Guiding line management and staff in the implementation of the code of conduct and any other applicable statutes.
• Processing the payroll using Belina.
• Ensuring compliance by timeously and correctly submitting NSSA, ZIMRA, NEC, ZIMDEF returns and payments.
• Maintaining employee records/files for future reference.
• Developing and implementing staff development programmes to meet current and future skills needs of the organisation.
• Facilitating staff engagement through Workers Committee and Works Council activities.
• Coordinating staff training and engagement meetings.
• Represent the company at external labour forums such as the NEC, Ministry of labour etc.
• Generating periodic HR Reports.
The ideal candidate must possess the following:
• A Degree in Human Resources Management or equivalent.
• IPMZ qualification is an added advantage.
• Belina Certification is an added advantage.
• At least 3 years' experience in people management, preferably in the Motor Industry.
• Previous experience in implementation of performance management systems is a pre-requisite.
• Previous experience administering disciplinary hearings in an NEC environment a distinct advantage.
• Ability to work under pressure, meeting strict deadlines.
• Good interpersonal communication skills and must have good planning and problem-solving skills.
• Unquestionable integrity.
