Job Description

Established in 1987, Population Services Zimbabwe (PSZ) is an affiliate of Marie Stopes International, and is one of the largest specialised sexual and reproductive health (SRH) organisations in Zimbabwe. PSZ complements the Ministry of Health and Child Care in the provision of quality, and affordable general health and SRH services in all provinces of Zimbabwe. In line with its expansion strategy. PSZ seeks to fill the following vacancies in response to this development.
ICT AND DATA SOLUTIONS OFFICER
Location: Harare
The Role
The incumbent will be reporting to the Senior RME Officer will be responsible of ensuring efficiency and effectiveness of PSZ functions and operations through enhanced strategic use of information technology, and ensure safe and reliable computing environment providing high degree of availability, recovery and highest level of data security, confidentiality and integrity.

Duties and Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities
• Plan, develop, implement and maintain ICT applications according to PSZ and International best standards and practices.
• Develop and implement ICT policies, strategies and plans in line with PSZ policies, strategic goals and plans.
• Advise management on the management of all organisational IT related issues.
• Perform data Back Up, retention and archiving.
• Develop and implement IT business continuity plan including certifying all backups and disaster recovery
procedures and plan in case of technological disruptions including testing whether DRP will work after real-
world incidents.
• Provide professional and technical assistance in managing and developing PSZ ICT Unit.
• Oversee the infrastructure of IT technical operations and installation of new systems.
• Design, develop and implement policies and procedures for maintaining the security, integrity of information
in PSZ information systems, communication lines and equipment.
• Design, develop, implement and review relevance and adequacy of policies and procedures for efficient
acquisition, utilization, management, and maintenance of ICT resources including computer hardware,
network and communication equipment, software and information.
• Ensure the smooth running of all ICT applications and relevant databases, including post-implementation
• Periodically review PSZ information needs and advise, recommend, and develop solutions to improve PSZ
operations.
• Research, evaluate and recommend technologies and applications relevant to PSZ’s ICT needs.
• Formulate and implement documentation to enforce adherence to relevant policies, procedures and
standards, ensure that data transmission, processing and storage comply with business rules.
• Provide technical support to departments, attend to their ICT needs, and ensure efficiency trouble shooting
and resolution of ICT challenges.
• Assess ICT current and future business costs, risks and opportunities.

Qualifications and Experience

About You
• Must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Sciences, Information Systems or related field.
• A professional qualification such as CCNA, MSCE or CISA is an added advantage.
• Competent in ICT security (firewall configuration, encryptions)
• Microsoft office 365 configuration, Vmware administration and Linux platforms
• At least 2 years relevant work experience
• Experience in graphic designing and video editing is essential.
• Able to communicate at all levels.
• A pro – active person and team player.
