Information, Communications and Technology (ICT) Manager - Harare

Role Purpose
The ICT Manager will head Zvitambo’s Information Technology Department and lead the strategy, infrastructure, and systems to ensure a secure, reliable, and innovative digital environment that supports our research programmes and organisational operations. This role is ideal for an experienced professional who wants to use technology to make a meaningful impact in maternal and child health.
• Develop and implement ICT strategies, policies, and standards aligned with organisational goals
• Maintain robust and secure IT infrastructure, networks, hardware, and software
• Lead systems administration, data security, backup, and disaster recovery processes
• Oversee information systems supporting research operations and data management
• Provide technical support, troubleshooting, and capacity building for staff
• Manage relationships with IT vendors, service providers, and technology partners
• Ensure compliance with data protection and cybersecurity best practices
• Maintain IT asset register and manage technology procurement
• Support digital innovation and continuous improvement initiatives
• Document systems, procedures, and configurations for continuity and support
• Supervises ICT departmental staff members
• Carries out performance appraisals of departmental staff
• Represents Zvitambo at various stakeholder meetings, conferences and engagements.
• Approves procurement decisions as a member of the procurement committee
• Participates in the selection and recruitment of new staff for Zvitambo
• Identify operational challenges and recommend solutions
• Recruit ICT department staff
• Orient ICT departmental staff on their responsibilities and conduct, departmental policies, organization policies and ICT SOP and communication standards.
• Train in IT troubleshooting procedure, reporting of problems and documentation.
• Conduct training of staff on available ICT Systems and Resources.
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, Master’s degree in the relevant field is a distinct advantage
• Additional certifications in ICT speciality field are a distinct advantage
• At least 5 O Level Passes including English
8–10 years relevant experience, including IT management or senior technical roles
• Strong knowledge of network installation and administration, cybersecurity, cloud services, and server technologies
• Proven expertise in systems administration, network installation, cybersecurity, and IT infrastructure planning.
• Strong leadership, analytical, and project management skills.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder-engagement skills
• Growth-oriented mindset and openness to continuous professional development.
• Experience in non-profit or research environments is an added advantage
• Fluency in English (and Ndebele or Shona).
