Job Description


Suitably qualified, experienced and motivated candidates are invited to apply for the position of International Banking & Trade Services Specialist which has arisen within the International Banking & Exchange Control Department.

Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following, among others:
 Developing an annual plan for the International Banking & Trade Services function and submits it to Head, International Banking & Exchange Control in compliance with the Bank Policies and Procedures
 Prepares an annual budget for International Banking & Trade Services function.
 Ensuring that clear operational and tactical plans, goals and objectives are cascaded to the International Banking & Trade Services team.
 Executes and approves international payments and trade finance instruments in full compliance with existing Bank Policies, Exchange Control Regulations. International Chamber of Commerce Guidelines, SWIFT Payment Guide Lines and relevant Laws and Regulations.
 Technical capacity building in international payments and trade services business in line with relevant country and industry forces affecting Exchange Control and International Banking by facilitating bank wide briefings and workshops to bank staff.
 Approves international payments and trade finance instruments in full compliance with existing Exchange Control Regulations, Bank Policies and procedures, SWIFT Guidelines and International Chamber of Commerce Trade Finance Instrument Guidelines.
 Receives and operationalizes the Exchange Control Operating Framework from Head, International Banking & Exchange Control and explains the details of the framework to the international Banking and trade services team.
 Arranges relevant training for all subordinates regarding the Exchange Control and Trade Operations matters.
 Resolves Audit, Reconciliation and Risk exceptions for the International Banking & Trade Services function.

 Checks and monitors departmental expenses against set budget and effect cost containment measures
 Ensures proper accounting of all international banking and trade services transactions to day contact with Trade Finance Lines Providers and correspondent banks to facilitate seamless execution of the international payments and trade operations business.

Qualifications and Experience

Qualification, Skills and Experience
 4 to 5 years’ experience in International Banking/Exchange Control/ Trade Finance/Trade Services, 2 or more years should be in Management position
