Job Description
Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill the above vacancy that has arisen within First Mutual Reinsurance Company. This role is under the Reinsurance Holding Company and will be used in Harare. First Mutual Reinsurance is one of the most noticeable and fast-growing reinsurance firms in Southern Africa. The company has a clear orientation towards specialised skills and knowledge in order to provide its clients with expert risk insights and technical training to hack its core reinsurance services to insurance companies and reinsurance brokers across Sub Saharan Africa.
Duties and Responsibilities
Job Specification Reporting to the Managing Director Chief Executive Officer - Reinsurance Cluster, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
• Formulating the regional and international strategy of the reinsurance cluster to meet the company objectives of regional expansion in consultation with Chief Executive Officer.
• Implementing the regional expansion strategy in the Clusters selected markets.
• Reviewing the cluster's regional business plan to ensure strategic focus, profitability and growth is maintained.
• Developing of stretching but realistic regional business budgets in order to achieve desired objectives.
• Ensuring that the business meets its current and future regional business growth targets in line with the requirements of the CEO and the cluster's Pan African strategy.
• Monitoring operating capital through ratios to ensure sufficient cash flow to run the business.
• Managing and monitoring continuously the KPI's of the Cluster's regional business KPI is (Revenue Growth, NEPI, Underwriting Profit).
• Developing and maintaining healthy relations with all key regional stakeholders.
Qualifications and Experience
Person Specification
• Degree in Insurance or Risk management or related field.
• fellow Cu Of be is an added advantage.
• Eight years of progressive reinsurance/insurance experience and of which should be in senior management position.
• Experience with African and International insurance markets a must.
• Advanced knowledge of the principles of reinsurance and contracts.
• Clearly, articulate and confident in written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational, prioritization, detail orientation and communication skills
• Establishing and maintaining professional rapport with teammates
