Job Description
We are seeking a driven individual, responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our 648hectare farm and its general management as a business entity and its overall success.
Duties and Responsibilities
Developing all short and long term objectives for the farm.
Managing the budget.
Recruitment, management and training of staff.
Creating all policies and best practice procedures as guided by legal regulations and evidence based agricultural knowledge.
Procurement of livestock, raw materials, machinery and any other goods e.g. drugs and required crop inputs
Management of all resources including vehicles and machinery.
Liaising with all existing and prospective clients with the objective of building and maintaining strong business relationships.
Coordinating all farm activities and maintaining smooth flow of information at all levels.
Providing weekly reports on the farm activities and monthly financial reports.
Marketing of farm produce.
Diagnosis and management of common disease and in consultation with the vet where relevant.
Performance appraisals of staff.
Qualifications and Experience
Minimum of 5years relevant experience
Degree or diploma in relevant field.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
Knowledge of Accounting Packages is an added bonus
Clean Class 4 Driver's Licence.
Critical thinking and negotiation skills.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
