LIBRARY DEPARTMENT

Reporting to: the Deputy Librarian – Operations
The Manager Client Services will be responsible for coordinating the delivery of client centered, timely, efficient and effective services that utilizes new technologies to
achieve service excellence.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Coordinate the development and update of content on the Library Website.
• Manage Library Social Media Platforms.
• Develop quality assurance benchmarks and Standard Operating procedures (SOPs) for the Client Services Division.
• Coordinate and promote the use of Assistive Technologies for persons with Special Needs.
• Coordinate the production of the Library Newsletter.
• Coordinate the hosting of Library events and exhibits.
• Coordinate the development of Library marketing and promotional materials.
• Manage and promote all Library spaces and study facilities.
• Conduct regular monitoring and evaluation activities on Library products and services.
• Coordinate the commemoration of national, international and cultural days.
• Conduct staff performance management.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by the University Librarian.

Qualifications and Experience


Qualifications, Experience and Attributes
The Applicant should:
• Possess a Master’s degree in Library and Information Science or any other relevant equivalent Master’s degree.
• Possess a first degree in Library and Information Science or related field.
• Have a minimum of five (5) years of relevant post-qualification experience at senior management level in a University or research library environment.
• Possess skills and competencies in the delivery of Information and Digital Skills for Undergraduate and Postgraduate students.
• Possess good problem-solving and critical-thinking skills and keep abreast with technological trends.
• Be a strong team player, able to work collaboratively with various stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes.
• Possess demonstrable knowledge of current and future trends in academic librarianship.
• Possess good interpersonal and communication skills.
