Job Description
Golden Knot Medical Aid Society (GKMAS) invites applications from suitably experienced individuals for the position of Membership and Billing Clerk. This position reports directly to the Principal Officer, GKMAS, and is offered on a renewed fixed-term contract basis.
This role is targeted at semi-retired or retired professionals with solid membership administration, billing, and debt-collection experience — individuals who bring accuracy, discipline, and reliability to member-facing financial processes
Duties and Responsibilities
● Receive and process new membership applications.
● Update member contributions onto the system as and when the need arises.
● Issue member firm and membership numbers.
● Produce and issue new membership cards.
● Generate monthly billing statements for members and participating employers.
● Collect contributions per member per month, following up on arrears through effective debt collection.
● Enforce membership waiting periods in line with Society rules.
● Prepare analytical and management reports on membership, billing, and collections as required.
● Report directly to, and support, the Principal Officer, GKMAS, on membership and billing matters.
Qualifications and Experience
● Must be semi-retired or retired, with a proven track record in membership administration and billing.
● Strong debt collection skills, with the ability to follow up on outstanding contributions professionally and effectively.
● Good with figures, with a high level of accuracy in processing financial and membership data.
● Sound analytical and reporting skills.
● Sound understanding of membership waiting periods and their correct enforcement
