Job Description
• The role of a Nurse Aide is to provide or assist with basic care or support under the direction of onsite licensed nursing staff.
• Perform duties such as monitoring of health status, feeding, bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, or ambulation of patients in a health or nursing facility.
• Must secure accommodation within walking distance of the clinic
• Must provide own scrubs, head gear and crocs based on our organisational corporate colours
• Availability for day and night shifts, 24/7 with an off duty 1 weekend per month.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Take vital signs
2. Assist patients with performing basic tasks such as eating, bathing dressing and toileting when necessary
3. Respond to calls from patients in the wards for assistance or treatment and alert senior staff to pending emergency situation.
4. Engage in housekeeping tasks such as replacing linens on beds, cleaning and sanitizing patients’ rooms and removing and replacing trash bags.
5. Provide and empty bedpans
6. Lift patients into beds, wheelchairs or examination tables
7. Restock linen rooms with necessary supplies
8. Serve as a conduit between patients, nurses and doctors and communicate all issues to medical staff.
9. Transport patients to operating rooms, treatment units, x-ray departments etc., and setting up equipment at a nurses or doctors request.
10. Work in kitchen to ensure that all in-patients get correct meals and that all patients are able to eat.
11. Assist the RGN, Midwife and Medical Doctor during patient treatment and related tasks.
12. Assist Radiographer and Ultra sonographer.
13. Any other duty that may be given by a senior.
Qualifications and Experience
• Nurse Aide certificates (Red cross or St Johns) or equivalent
• Must be able to find accommodation within walking distance of Domboshava Medclinic,
• Female environment.
• Must be able to provide own scrubs, crocs and be able to go through a rigorous 6months orientation with written tests.
