Career Opportunity: Occupational Therapist (Kadoma)
The Jairos Jiri Association is seeking a dedicated and experienced Occupational Therapist to join our team at the Jairos Jiri Association School of the blind in Kadoma. This role is pivotal in providing high-quality rehabilitative care, focusing on maximizing functional independence and enhancing the quality of life for our clients across all age groups.
Key Responsibilities
• Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments to identify functional limitations and rehabilitation needs.
• Develop and implement holistic, patient-centered treatment plans based on evidence-based practices.
• Provide activities, exercises, and adaptive equipment training to improve motor skills, cognitive function, and sensory processing.
• Guide patients and families on compensatory strategies, home modifications, and preventative safety measures.
• Work effectively within a multidisciplinary team, including nurses, nurses aides, and social workers.
• Maintain accurate, timely patient records and progress notes in compliance with professional and organizational standards.
• Participate in continuous professional development and contribute to clinical quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications and Experience
• Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy from a recognized institution.
• Current registration and a valid practicing certificate
• Minimum of 3 years post-qualification clinical experience in a rehabilitation or hospital setting.
• Demonstrated skills in treating a diverse caseload (pediatric, adult)
• Strong understanding of human anatomy, kinesiology, and neuro-rehabilitation principles.
• Excellent interpersonal communication and professional documentation abilities.
