Operating Theatre Nurse Aide

Job Description

The Theatre Nurse Aide assists the theatre nursing team in providing safe, efficient and quality patient care by supporting patient preparation, maintaining theatre cleanliness and assisting with equipment and supplies before, during and after surgical procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Preparation of operating rooms for surgery
• Assisting surgical team as a runner during surgery
• Cleaning, packing and sterilizing trays/sundries for operating theatre and wards
• Assisting with patient transportation.

Qualifications and Experience

• O-Level certificate (minimum 5 subjects, including English)
• National Certificate in Nursing Aide (from a recognized institution)
• Operating theatre experience with traceable references
• Ability to work as a team member
• Attention to detail
• Knowledge of sterility and aseptic technique
• Ability and knowledge on CSSD work flow- cleaning, packing and sterilizing trays/sundries for operating theatre and wards
• Knowledge of operating theatre equipment/ devices and how to operate them.
