Job Description
We seek to engage a qualified, experienced and results driven Operations Manager who will effectively lead one of our operations with a focus on improving its efficiency and viability.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Managing all activities to do with production in the operation.
2. Managing the entire operations process – from material availability, production and most importantly sales of the finished products.
3. Continuously identifying opportunities which are in the best interests of the operation.
4. Developing and Implementing strategies aimed at increasing product market share.
5. Embracing design and ensuring continuous improvement for better product quality and improved output.
6. Planning of all works as requested by all stakeholders.
7. Controlling costs, raw materials, human resources and asset management under the section to keep them within control for competitiveness of the final product.
8. Analyse and improve organisational processes and work to improve quality, productivity and efficiency.
9. Driving the set strategy to achieve the set goals as per the broader organisational vision.
10. Interacting with managers in other sections within the organisation whose roles impact the operations.
11. Designing, managing and improving the operations system for better delivery.
12. Identifying and addressing weaknesses and threats which may affect the operation.
Qualifications and Experience
1. Engineering Diploma/HND/Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering.
2. Experience in Sales and marketing coupled up with a qualification in the commercials field (preferably Sales and Marketing) would be a distinct advantage.
3. A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment; 2 of which should be at managerial level.
4. Knowledge of general business software is a pre-requisite.
5. Excellent communication, planning and coordination skills.
6. Good ethical and moral values.
7. Clean Class 4 driver’s licence.
