• Source and position trucks to cover cargo loads confirmed by the Sales team across Zimbabwe and SADC.
• Build and maintain a wide network of vetted carriers, fleet owners, and independent truck operators.
• Negotiate competitive haulage rates while protecting company margins and service standards.
• Coordinate load scheduling, route planning, and real-time shipment tracking.
• Ensure all transport documentation — waybills, permits, border docs — is complete and accurate before dispatch.
• Resolve operational issues such as breakdowns, delays, and border complications swiftly and effectively.
• Report daily and weekly on load coverage, truck availability, and carrier performance.
• Source and position suitable trucks (flatbeds, tautliners, tankers, reefers, etc.) to match confirmed cargo loads from the Sales team.
• Build and maintain a robust and reliable carrier/transporter network across Zimbabwe and the SADC region.
• Vet and onboard new carriers ensuring compliance with regulatory, safety, and operational standards.
• Coordinate load planning, truck scheduling, and route planning to ensure timely cargo pick-up and delivery.
• Negotiate competitive haulage rates with carriers while maintaining service quality and company margins.
• Track shipments in real-time and proactively communicate status updates to the Sales team and clients.
• Resolve operational issues such as breakdowns, delays, border clearances, and load discrepancies promptly.
• Maintain an up-to-date database of available and pre-qualified trucks, carriers, and route capabilities.
• Ensure all transport documentation (contracts, waybills, border docs, permits) is accurate and in order before dispatch.
• Coordinate with the Sales team on load specifications, special handling requirements, and delivery timelines.
• Provide daily and weekly operational reports to management on loads, truck availability, and carrier performance.
• Monitor and manage carrier performance metrics and escalate underperformance issues accordingly.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in a transport operations, fleet coordination, or freight brokerage role.
• Strong understanding of road freight operations across Zimbabwe and the SADC corridor.
• Existing network of truck owners, fleet operators, and carriers is a strong advantage.
• Familiarity with cross-border transport documentation (e.g., COMESA, SADC protocols, transit permits, COOs).
• Diploma or Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transport Management, or a related field.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to think on your feet under pressure.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with TMS (Transport Management Systems) is an advantage.
• Valid driver's licence.
