Job Description
The Panel beater will be responsible for vehicle body repairs and spray painting.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Panel beat and repair all accident damaged vehicles.
• Panel beat and undertake repair of chassis and bodywork on accident damaged vehicles to company specifications.
• Rebuild accident damaged vehicles.
• Perform minor and major panel line work on all fleet vehicles.
• Welding of body components.
• Advise supervisor on their vehicle repair needs.
• Perform minor and major panel line work on fleet vehicles,
• Undertake tasks delegated to you by the supervisor & Manager.
• Ensuring that all panel beating, and other equipment is fully utilized.
• Ensure sufficient tools for jobs are at hand and that these tools are securely kept.
• Assisting in the preparation of estimates or quotations.
• Facilitate the safe and prompt collection and delivery of fleet vehicles.
• Ordering / requisitioning and authorization of parts from the stores department.
• Quality control – repair right first time and ensure zero defects on all repaired vehicles.
• Ensures workshop equipment is serviced as per schedule where applicable.
• Adhere to all occupational Health and Safety requirements at all times.
Qualifications and Experience
• Class 1 or 2 Journeyman /Skilled Worker Class 3 in Panel Beating
• At least 2years proven field experience
• Basic knowledge of vehicle body building and vehicle mechanics.
• Physically fit with good manual skills,
• Ability to work as part of a team, under pressure with minimum supervision
• Clean class 4 or 2 driver’s license
• Good communication skills (both verbal and written)
