The “Partnership and Advocacy Advisor” role at Mvuramanzi Trust (MMT) is pivotal in enhancing strategic collaborations and advancing advocacy initiatives to support MMT's mission.
Position Title:Partnership and Advocacy Advisor
Location: Zimbabwe
Reports to:The Project Manager
Key Responsibilities:
1.0 Partnership Development & Management
➢ Identify and engage with potential partners, including NGOs, Government agencies, and community-based organizations.
➢ Draft funding partner-related documents, proposals, correspondence, and reports in coordination with the Project Manager and the rest of the team.
➢ Develop and maintain strategic partnerships aligning with MMT’s mission and objectives.
➢ Coordinate partnership assessments and facilitate the negotiation and signing of partnership agreements.
➢ Review partnership agreements, budgets, and annexures for compliance with MMT/funding partners’ standards.
➢ Develop solicitation strategies and maintain relations with funding partners to ensure continued engagement and funding.
➢ Participate in international, regional, or national meetings and hold discussions with representatives of other institutions on behalf of the organisation.
➢ Stay updated on the latest donor and funding trends, actively engage with peers to solicit best practices in fundraising and resource mobilization.
2.0 Advocacy Strategy & Implementation
➢ Lead the formulation and rollout of MMT's advocacy strategy to strengthen representation and influence.
➢ Ensure advocacy messages are evidence-based and of high quality.
➢ Develop and update advocacy materials, including talking points and top-line messages.
➢ Participate in relevant advocacy platforms and forums.
➢ Identify and implement advocacy opportunities that can help mobilize additional funding.
3.0 Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) Support.
➢ Collaborate with MEAL to develop indicators and frameworks for measuring the effectiveness of partnerships and advocacy efforts.
➢ Ensure proper documentation and reporting of MMT and partnership activities and outcomes.
➢ Support knowledge management.
Qualifications:
❖ Bachelor’s degree in International Development, Social Sciences, Business Administration, or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
❖ At least 3 years of experience in partnership management and advocacy, preferably within the NGO sector.
❖ Strong understanding of the development landscape in Zimbabwe.
❖ Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
❖ Proficiency in English; knowledge of local languages is an asset.
