POST A: FINANCIAL ACCOUNTANT REVENUE (Grade 4)

Job Description

The incumbent will report to the General Manager Finance and will be responsible for the following, among other duties: -
• To manage all working capital resources and ensure that there is adequate cash to meet operations.
• To ensure that the company is financially viable by employing cost cutting measures in liaison with line managers.
• To liaise with Treasury Manager in investing prudently any excess cash.
• To ensure that all revenue General Ledger reconciliations are done & performs some GL reconciliation. Prepares monthly management accounts and annual financial statements.
• To ensure that all accounting transactions are properly accounted for according to the relevant IAS.
• To authorize addition and deletion of folios in the accounting system.
• To manage and review the cash accounting system to meet Zimbabwe Posts (Pvt) Ltd requirements.
• To arrange overdraft facilities with banks and oversee the administration of loans.
• To assist General Manager Finance in submitting Statutory returns, e.g PAYE, VAT, CUSTOMS DUTY & QPDS.
• To plan and assist both internal and external auditors in conducting audit of ZIMPOST.
• To supervise work of subordinates.
• To identify training requirements for staff.
• To set agreed measurable and clear performance targets which are reviewed at regular intervals.
• Liaise closely with Management Accountant for inputs from their sections prior to preparation of financial reports.
• Liaise with line managers on cash account, financials controls and payments.
• Liaise with IT and line management from other sections on the development and enhancement of systems to meet the company requirements.
• Liaise with government officials on ZIMPOST operational performance.
• Coordinate the Statutory Audit of ZIMPOST.

Qualifications and Experience

Qualifications and Experience
• Accountancy Degree, or full CIS/CIMA candidate, broad exposure in any ERP Systems.
• An MBA will be an added advantage
• Three (3) years’ experience in a senior position
