Job Description
Job Grade: E4 – Director –Macroeconomics
Job Purpose
The job holder will be charged with the responsibility of managing, coordinating and production of a wide range of high quality prices statistics through surveys.
Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities and Duties
1. Responsible for producing retail and producer price statistics including poverty datum lines.
2. Design survey instruments in accordance with manuals
3. Training and coaching junior staff.
4. Supervises data collection; coding and editing; processing and dissemination.
5. Writes/checks all statistical reports produced for the Department.
6. Assess resources and personnel requirements for the Department.
7. Drawing annual work plans for the Department.
8. Drafts and updates techni-scripts and manuals/documents on methodology.
9. Execute capacity building initiatives in the Department.
10. Provision of statistics or information to national, regional and international users as well as assisting users to articulate their needs
11. Participates in national, regional and international conferences, workshops and exercises.
12. Monitoring progress and compiling progress reports for the Department.
13. Implement decisions from Senior Management.
14. Planning, budgeting, monitoring and coordination of activities in the department.
Qualifications and Experience
Qualifications, experience, attributes and competences
1. At least a good first degree in Economics, Mathematics, Statistics or equivalent.
2. A Master’s Degree in the relevant discipline is a must.
3. At least 5 years of relevant experience of which five must be at senior level.
4. Excellent leadership and communication skills
5. Must be a good team leader
6. Excellent presentation and facilitation skills
