PROCUREMENT MANAGEMENT UNIT

POST B: PROCUREMENT OFFICER – 2 POSTS

Duties and Responsibilities

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the Procurement Specialist, the person will be responsible for:

Receiving requisitions from user departments.
Scrutiny of requisitions for completeness of specification and assisting user departments in crafting proper specifications.
Requesting quotations through the Electronic Government Procurement System (e-GPS).
Preparing system-based priced requisitions for onward transmission to the Planning office for authorization.
Carrying out audit-observed Electronic Quotation Box (EQB) opening.
Preparing Cost Comparative Schedule (CCS), for onward transmission to the Procurement Specialist.
Price benchmarking using reputable, competitive suppliers.
Conversion of purchase requisition into purchase orders.
Expediting, processing and delivery of orders.
Filing of procurement proceedings and records.
Any other duties assigned by the Procurement Specialist.

Qualifications and Experience

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

At least a Higher National Diploma or a First Degree in Purchasing and Supply or Supply Chain Management
A professional qualification in Purchasing and Supply Chain Management, e.g., CIPS will be an added advantage.
A minimum of one year of relevant post-qualification work experience.
Should have good oral and written communication skills.
Should be a good team player.
Attention to detail in execution of work is required.
