Job Description

Trócaire is an International NGO. The Programme Intern will support the effective implementation, monitoring, and management of Trócaire Zimbabwe’s programme portfolio. Reporting to the Programme Manager, the role works closely with Programme Advisors, Finance, and partners to ensure high-quality programme delivery, compliance with donor and organisational requirements, and strong information management systems.

The role also contributes to grant management, partner engagement, and administrative coordination, ensuring that programme objectives are achieved and reporting standards are met.

Duties and Responsibilities

Key responsibilities

Programme Implementation & Monitoring

Support Programme Advisors in managing the full project cycle .
Provide technical support and training to partners on project implementation.
Review partner reports and provide timely feedback aligned with RBM and donor requirements.
Support monitoring, evaluation, and learning processes in collaboration with MEL staff.
Prepare high-quality narrative reports in line with donor requirements.
Conduct field visits to partners and communities for programme oversight.
Grant Management & Compliance

Support grant management ensuring compliance with donor and contractual requirements.
Assist in tracking project deliverables, outcomes, and reporting timelines.
Support development of project proposals and documentation.
Information Management

Maintain accurate programme data on systems such as Salesforce and Box.
Conduct periodic audits to ensure data quality and completeness.
Programme Support & Administration

Provide administrative and coordination support to the Programme Team.
Prepare presentations, briefing materials, and programme documentation.
Support planning processes including work plans, budgets, and reports.
Finance & Operations Support

Work with Programme Accountant on budgets, cash flow forecasts, and financial tracking.
Support grant approval processes and partner disbursements.
Ensure compliance with data protection and information security requirements.
Provide backstopping support to Programme Advisors when required.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential Requirements

Experience

Minimum 1 years’ experience in development or programme support work.
Qualifications

Degree in Development Studies, Social Sciences, or a related field.
Technical/Professional Skills

Strong project coordination and organisational skills.
Ability to manage data, reports, and documentation systems.
Experience with programme management and donor compliance.
Strong written, presentation, and communication skills.
Ability to use digital platforms (e.g., Salesforce, databases, MS Office).
