Job Description

PROJECT BACKGROUND

“Seeds for future” (SEFF) - sustainable agriculture for the resilience of rural communities" in Masvingo Province - Zimbabwe is an Italian Development Cooperation #AICS funded project being implemented by a consortium of partners, with COSPE Onlus as the lead, supported by Terre des Hommes Italia, Sustainable Agriculture Trust , Community Technology Development Organisation , Women in Land Zimbabwe and Rete Semi Rurali-ITALY. The project covering selected wards in Chiredzi, Masvingo Rural and Mwenezi districts, with a target of 5920 direct beneficiaries, will be implemented over 3 years starting May 2022. The action seeks to upscale the community of practice initiative in #agroecology in selected communities; in-situ community traditional seeds selection, #seed storage, seed multiplication and seed use; weir construction and micro-irrigation establishment for household #nutrition and incomes and upscaling of high value crop production for selected #irrigation schemes

Duties and Responsibilities

Coordinate day to day project activities with partners and stakeholders.
Ensure adherence to set work plan in line with set objectives.
Produce well researched weekly ,monthly and quarterly project reports.
Work with communities in achieving the set project theory of change.
Attend meetings organised by local partners, stakeholders and government line ministries.

Qualifications and Experience

Bsc in Agric-Crops,
Msc an added advantage,
Experience in Community Seed Systems/ community seed banking, Small Grains agronomy, Experience working within the NGO Consortia approach,
Clean class 4 driver’s licence,
Willing to undergo medical examination,
To start immediately.
