Position summary
The position is responsible for defining, planning and monitoring medical activities and programs in accordance with MSF prospect for migration health in Southern African Region as well as coordinating human and material related resources needed in order to ensure the quality of care provided by MSF.

Duties and Responsibilities

Position responsibilities
Responsible and accountable for defining and implementing medical objectives, strategy development and implementation within the project; Participates in the development of MSF migrant health framework; Design and review medical strategy as per the migration dynamic in Southern African Region and health needs of migrants in collaboration with Project Coordinator and in consultation with the MSF Regional Migration Referent; Design medical advocacy strategy in collaboration with Project Coordinator, Regional Migration Referent, Country Support Team and Regional Support Team; Develop project emergency preparedness plan covering operating sites and Matabeleland South region; Responsible for staff health management within the project; Plan & monitor HR-associated processes for medical workforce; Represent MSF at the project locality, especially in meeting health authorities.

Qualifications and Experience

Qualifications
Medicine and Surgery or relevant degree or training in Tropical Medicine or related studies; Master’s degree in public health is an asset; Experience working in the medical humanitarian field, with international NGO in an inter-cultural context; Experience working within, leading and coordinating teams is essential; Experience working for migrant populations and or other people on the move is an asset; Progressive experience and knowledge of data collection, analysis, monitoring and evaluation; Mature, collaborative leader with excellent organizational skills – establish priorities and follow-up plans; Progressive management and leadership experience including people leadership, budgeting and budgetary control; Ability to autonomously lead team with strong analytical, diagnostic and problem-solving skills; advanced ICT skills, Microsoft office compulsory; Valid Medical Practicing Certificate.
