POSITION DESCRIPTION
This role is responsible for coordinating and managing all capital projects' financial transactions (local and foreign), developing financial models, maintaining the fixed assets register, and producing accurate reporting to support management decision-making. The position ensures full compliance with exchange control requirements, internal controls, and financial reporting standards while maintaining the integrity of the SAP project module.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage the full financial lifecycle of capital projects, from budget development to final reporting
Build, maintain and manage project structures in SAP Project Builder to support accurate tracking of capital and expansion projects
Track project costs and ensure accuracy through regular engagement with project teams
Prepare monthly capital projects financial statements, reconciliations, variance analyses, capital expenditure rolling forecasts and management reports
Coordinate the development and consolidation of annual capital expenditure budgets and cash flow forecasts.
Monitor and report on project expenditure and funding utilization
Ensure all foreign project invoices meet Exchange Control requirements and are processed and paid timeously
Ensure compliance with contract terms, internal controls, and project accounting standards
Maintain the SAP project module to ensure accurate, updated, and reliable capital information for reporting and audit purposes
Identify and flag project financial risks, providing recommendations for corrective action
Develop financial models to support feasibility assessments and capital investment decisions
Reconcile supplier statements to project spend to ensure completeness of reported project expenditure
Ensure that the Projects team complies to the cost approval frameworks and there is no budget overlap on projects costs
Maintain the property, plant and equipment register (fixed assets register) in compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
A Bachelor's degree in Accounting (essential)
A professional qualification such as CIMA / ACCA / CIS / CA is an added advantage
Minimum of 4–6 years' experience in financial and/or project accounting
Strong knowledge of SAP, financial reporting standards, internal controls, statutory requirements, and tax issues
Demonstrated experience in forecasting, planning, and organising, ERP systems and problem-solving
An understanding of Zimplats' Business Management System (BMS), Capital Projects Management and Fixed Assets Register Maintenance Procedures.
