Role Profile
Reporting to the Business Development Manager, The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in spearheading the Bank's participating in national development programs within the province allocated inline with government policy, initiatives and directives in the agriculture space.
The position demands a self starter, innovative, dynamic and self driven person who is able to develop business at the provincial level and contribute to the Bank's lending book. The individual must have capacity to identify business opportunities in the agriculture value chain specific to the area and conceptualize winning strategies to exploit these opportunities. Incumbent will work hand in glove with the Business Development Manager to achieve and drive the Bank's vision

Duties and Responsibilities

Asist in the acquisition and development of profitable relationships at provincial level on both commercial and development scales to contribute towards the achievement of the bank's overall strategy
Work closely with government departments involved in agriculture projects and leverage any opportunity that arise with a view to capacitate and develop small holder farming communities
Optimize service processes and systems as well as tracking customer performance on a regular basis
Oversee and manage the entire credit application process right from loan origination upto disbursement in conjunction with the credit department
Review and assess loan appraisals to evaluate client's creditworthiness
Manage credit risk and provide independent oversight of the bank's portfolio
Manage post disbursement activities and monitor partial disbursement cases
Manage debt settlements and loan renewals through regular engagements with clients
Provide regular reports and contribute to strategic reports through regular updates on all provincial updates (operational and Business)

Qualifications and Experience

A Degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Business, Accounting or Agriculture Economics
A post graduate qualification in credit management is an added advantage
At least 5 years' relevant experience in bank lending. with 3 years at a supervisory level.
Experience with credit analysis Including use of applicable financial analysis tools.
High level analytical skills
Advanced level of accounting software/computer based banking operations
In-depth knowledge of continually evolving credit scoring and financial services products
Good understanding of lending procedures
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for negotiating and reconciliation
Exceptional attention to detail and report writing
