Job Description
JF Kapnek a registered PVO 1/86 which has been operating in Zimbabwe since 1986 whose mission is to improve family health, reduce child mortality and create educational opportunities for the children of Zimbabwe through the implementation of scalable, sustainable programs is seeking to fill the vacancies below:
Job Title : Research Assistant
Reporting to : SIE Manager
Location : Harare with travel to areas of operation
Position Summary
To support the SIE Manager in implementing the TASQC Learning Agenda and Formulate research questions
Duties and Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
• Assist in identifying areas that require deep dive analysis and additional data extraction.
• Formulation of research protocols and field SOPs and research manuals.
• Fact checking, proof reading and literature searches to formulate research objectives.
• Reviewing ethical issues in research and seeking ethical approval from respective IRBs • Participate in implementing the JFK learning agenda
• Assist in archiving of program documents and success stories
• Assist in archiving of study documentation
• Assist in data collection
• Assist in documenting research findings through comprehensive reports and visualisations.
• Assist in quantitative and qualitative data analysis.
• Transcription and translation of FDGs and other interviews
Qualifications and Experience
Requirements
• A Degree in Health Sciences/Statistics/Social Sciences
• Certification if Good Clinical Practise and Research Ethics is an added advantage
• Evidence of self-learning is an added advantage
• Excellent computer skills, Advanced Excel, MS Office and Statistical Packages
• Ability to stick to work deadlines e.g. punctuality and reports
• Ability and willingness to travel occasionally
