The Research & Development Specialist is responsible for conducting market, industry, and product research to support innovation, strategy execution, and new business development. The role drives insight generation, identifies emerging trends, and supports the design and development of products, services, and solutions that enhance the Bank’s competitiveness in Zimbabwe, across Africa, and beyond.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct market, industry and competitor research to identify trends, opportunities and risks.
Generate insights to support innovation, new product development and strategic decision-making.
Develop business cases, feasibility studies and research reports for management.
Support design, testing and rollout of new products, services and concepts.
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure research informs strategy, product enhancements and digital initiatives.
Monitor regulatory, technological and economic developments affecting the Bank.
Maintain accurate research data, tools and repositories to support evidence-based planning.
Qualifications
Degree in Economics, Finance, Business Analytics, Statistics, Research, Innovation, or related field.
A postgraduate qualification (MSc/MBA) is an advantage.
Certifications in Research, Data Analytics, Innovation, or Design Thinking are added advantages.
Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in research, business intelligence, market analysis, product development, or innovation.
Experience in banking, fintech, consulting, or financial services research is highly desirable.
Proven track record supporting new product development, strategic initiatives, or digital innovation
