The Adult Rape Clinic (ARC) is seeking a highly competent, ethical and results-oriented professional to serve as Senior Finance Officer. Reporting to the Director, the successful candidate will provide strategic leadership and oversight of ARC's finance, human resources and administrative functions
Key Responsibilities
• Lead financial planning, budgeting, cash-flow management, financial analysis and financial risk management.
• Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, annual and donor financial reports and provide strategic financial advice to Management and the Board.
• Maintain strong internal controls and oversee accounting transactions, reconciliations, payroll, audits, assets, banking and risk registers.
• Ensure compliance with donor requirements, ARC policies, statutory obligations, tax legislation, GAAP and IFRS.
• Support proposal development through the preparation and review of project budgets and financial projections.
• Lead and supervise finance and administration staff, including coaching, performance management and capacity strengthening.
• Oversee recruitment support, contracts, staff records, leave administration, payroll inputs and other HR processes.
• Manage organisational facilities, inventory, insurance, IT systems, security and key institutional records.
• Represent ARC professionally in engagements with donors, auditors, banks, government authorities and other stakeholders.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
• A recognised degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field.
• A professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, CIMA, CIS, CA or equivalent will be a strong advantage.
• Demonstrated senior-level experience in financial management, preferably within a non-governmental or donor-funded organisation.
• Advanced financial management skills, including budgeting, financial analysis, donor reporting, audit preparation, cash-flow forecasting, risk management and internal controls.
• Strong knowledge of accounting standards, statutory compliance, taxation and donor regulations.
• Practical experience using accounting and payroll software.
• Sound knowledge of human resources management, administration and labour-related requirements.
