Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill in the following position is the SHE Department based in Harare.
• Compile and maintain safety files and other related relevant files at the project site
• Establish safe and standard operating procedures
• Conduct pre-implementation risk assessments at factory site and identify risk reduction
and mitigation measures at project sites
• Provide SHE improvement proposals, proposed corrective action plan and required
resources for corrective action taken
• Follow-up to ensure that corrective actions are implemented where necessary and
ensure that requirements are complied with
• Report on performance where repetitive matters are not being addressed according to
requirements
• Coordinate and participate in the investigation of incidents, accidents and near misses
• Conduct SHE Committee meetings (plan, schedule and review)
• Investigate the root cause of SHE complaints put forward by staff members, customers
and contractors and report the result to immediate supervisor
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly SHE reports, statistics and presentations related to
SHE performance
• Monitor and review that corrective measures have been implemented
• Establish Safe Work Procedures; Standard Operating Procedures and Safe Work
Instructions for tasks as and when required.
• Plan and coordinate SHEQ related training for all staff members.
• Ensure accurate registration and record keeping of all legislative i.e. (PPE registers,
Awareness training registers, all office inspection related registers).
• Supervises the regular inspection of fire-fighting and emergency response equipment
at project sites and offices
• Provide detailed health audit reports with findings
• Identify non-conformities and provide corrective action measures to prevent
reoccurrence.
• Perform any other work related duties and responsibilities that may be assigned from
time-to-time by management
• Must have a bachelor’s degree in Safety Health and Environmental Risk or Disaster
Management or any other related field
• Membership of a recognised professional Institution
• A minimum of 2 years relevant working experience in Construction Industry
• In-depth knowledge of legislation e.g. OHSAS 18001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001
• Environmental and Quality qualification and added advantage
