Job Description

The SHEQ Officer coordinates the implementation, monitoring of legal compliance, maintenance, and administration of the Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) management system programmes, and conformance to company policies, procedures, and other requirements. The position ensures that the Company and its contractors comply with the requirements of the legislation by monitoring SHE compliance, attending and reporting at SHE meetings, and ensuring statutory and regulatory compliance by conducting site audits according to the requirements of every client. .

Duties and Responsibilities

• Oversight of the whole SHEQ function and systems.
• Develop, manage, supervise, and coordinate work systems to ensure that service provision meets the highest quality standards and that the working practices of the company are delivered.
• Advise top management and assist with the implementation of existing or new SHEQ-related legislation, rules, and company standards, to include all client sites.
• Lead, develop, and maintain the company's and clients' sites SHEQ management programmes and systems.
• Determine the strategic direction and work priorities for the continuous improvement of all sites' SHEQ management programmes and systems in place.
• Take full responsibility for the company's preparation of integrated management systems (IMS) audits for the 3 standards.
• Enforce compliance issues regarding operational processes company-wide.
• Follow up to ensure that corrective actions are implemented where necessary and that requirements are complied with.
• Ensure that SHEQ Committee meetings are held as scheduled and that issues raised are addressed.
• Coordinate and execute external (BSI) and internal audits.

Qualifications and Experience

Educational Requirements
• 5 'O' Levels .
Professional Qualifications
• Degree in Occupational Health and Safety and/or OSHEMAC 1 & 2 Certificate.
Experience
• At least two (2) years' experience in a SHEQ-related role.
Competencies and Skills
• Good working knowledge of SHE legislation, ISO standards, and audit procedures.
• Strong report-writing, record-keeping, and documentation skills.
• Good observation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently across multiple sites and under pressure.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• High level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
